December 22, 2021 <br /> ADMINISTRATION UPDATE ON PRIOR BUSINESS <br /> Lori Cummings stated that included on the Consent Agenda was a request for the <br /> Mayor to sign a contract with Imagine Children's Museum awarding $80,000 <br /> through the Everett Grant Program. She also recognized and thanked the <br /> departing City Council members and showed appreciation for their work and <br /> support. <br /> CITY ATTORNEY <br /> City Attorney David Hall stated there was no executive session for this meeting. <br /> He gave a brief update on two litigation items: <br /> • The Purdue Pharma Bankruptcy proceedings <br /> • Global Settlement with Johnson and Johnson and the three largest <br /> distributors—Washington State opted out of that settlement which means <br /> the City of Everett is not eligible to participate in the settlement.The State <br /> of Washington has a separate litigation with Johnson and Johnson, and he <br /> will continue to update City Council and the Public as new information <br /> comes forward. <br /> City Attorney Hall announced two items that required Council action from the <br /> December 15, 2021, Executive Session: <br /> DEPARTMENT OF ECOLOGY NUTRIENTS GENERAL PERMIT <br /> City Attorney Hall requested President Stonecipher to call for a motion for the <br /> Council to authorize the City to appeal the Puget Sound Nutrient Permit as <br /> previously discussed during last week's Executive Session. <br /> Moved by Council Member Bader, seconded by Council Member Moore, to <br /> authorize the City to move forward to appeal the Puget Sound Nutrient Permit. <br /> 4 <br />
