• •
Ted de Budden
From: Ted de Budden
Sent: Friday, November 1, 2019 3:04 PM
To: Eileen Hinkley
Cc: Tony Lee; Steve Banks; Darold Walden;Jeff Heilman;Terri Jorgenson
Subject: Unlawful Structures.
Eileen,
We have a property that was recently issued some over the counter permits for repair work.
During the course of conducting inspections it was referred to me for additional scrutiny, due to unusual features and
installations observed there.
My research of permit records and other documents indicate that this property is recognized and permitted as a single
family home (only).
Inspection of the property has revealed that the Main house has been altered to create two separate dwellings (stacked
configuration)and that a detached accessory structure (approximately 400 sq.ft) has been altered to create a separate
and detached dwelling behind the main Building. Creating a total of three separate dwellings.
The alterations to create the three separate dwellings has been conducted at some time in the past without required
permits and approvals and in violation of code. ( R105.1)
These Structures are Unlawful as Defined by Code. IPMC Section 108.1.4
I recommend that these structures be condemned as required and outlined by code. (IPMC section 108.1)
The Structures are currently Vacant and should remain so until Occupancy is approved by this Department.
Thank you in advance for your assistance in this matter.
Ted de Budden
16 11.1 Chief Inspector 1 Permit Services
425.257-72711 3200 Cedar Street, 2"d Floor, Everett,WA 98201
EVERETT Hours: Monday—Friday 7:30am-12:OOpm and 1:OOpm-4:OOpm
everettwa.gov I Facebook 1 Twitter
Note:Emails and attachments sent to and from the City of Everett are public records and may be subject to disclosure pursuant to the Public
Records Act.
1
