From: Deb Williams
To: Ashleigh Scott; David Hall; Lori Cummings; Nick Hamer; Cassie Franklin
Subject: FW: [EXTERNAL] Comment for February Everett City Council meeting
Date: Tuesday, February 8, 2022 6:10:01 PM
I have responded to Mary and informed her I have forwarded this on to be part of the permanent
record.
This is just FYI.
Deb Williams
Executive Assistant to Council
From: Mary Rollins <mfrl58@gmail.com>
Sent: Tuesday, February 08, 2022 6:01 PM
To: DL-Council <Council@everettwa.gov>
Subject: [EXTERNAL] Comment for February Everett City Council meeting
CAUTION: This email originated from outside of the organization. Do not click links or open
attachments unless you recognize the sender and know the content is safe.
To the Mayor and City Council:
We the leadership of 350 Everett ask that the Mayor and Everett City Council endorse
the urban tree canopy policy under consideration by Snohomish County.
If we are to be serious about reducing climate change, we can't support preserving
trees in some places and not in others. Older trees and habitat corridors in urban
environments provide critical carbon reduction, absorb pollution and enhance the
quality of life for people living in those areas. In the fight against climate change, this
is a benefit we can't afford to lose.
The League of Women Voters has written a letter to the Snohomish County Council
supporting this thorough and well -thought out plan. 350 Everett has signed onto this
letter and we are asking the City of Everett to sign on as well.
Thank you so much!
Bill Sheets
Mary Rollins
On behalf of 350 Everett
