MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br /> Between City of Everett <br /> And <br /> Everett Municipal Employees LOCAL No. 113(AFSCME) <br /> I. PURPOSE: <br /> This Memorandum of Understanding(MOU)outlines the mutual understanding between the <br /> parties regarding the Equipment Mechanic and Fleet Warranty Specialist classification <br /> specifications, salary range updates,and changes made to Article 7 of the AFSCME (2020-2022) <br /> Collective Bargaining Agreement. <br /> II. SCOPE: <br /> This agreement is applicable to employees AFSCME represented classifications of Equipment <br /> Mechanic and Fleet Warranty Specialist. <br /> III. AGREEMENT: <br /> WHEREAS,the City has a Collective Bargaining Agreement with AFSCME LOCAL No. 113 which <br /> expires December 31, 2022; <br /> WHEREAS,the City continues to face increasing challenges in both the recruitment and <br /> retention of highly qualified fleet maintenance professionals. In an effort to maintain a staffing <br /> level that retains current City employees,supports the Motor Vehicle Division's ability to <br /> provide services to City departments, and provides opportunity for growth,the Motor Vehicle <br /> Division, Human Resources, and AFSCME partnered to review and update the classification <br /> specifications and compensation levels for the Equipment Mechanic and Fleet Warranty <br /> Specialist job classifications. <br /> WHEREAS,the goal is to maintain a pay structure that supports staff recruitment, retention, <br /> growth, development, and fair compensation while providing efficient and effective services. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,the parties agree that: <br /> • The classification of Equipment Mechanic shall be updated and retitled as Fleet Service <br /> Technician. <br /> • The classification of Fleet Warranty Specialist shall be updated and retitled as Fleet <br /> Support Specialist. <br /> • Article 7 Section 1 of the current labor agreement is revised to reflect the updated salary <br /> ranges associated with the aforementioned classifications(Appendix A). <br /> • Current employees will maintain seniority in accordance with Article 15; a salary <br /> conversion table has been attached to the MOU (Appendix B)that provides current pay <br /> range/step and proposed new pay range/step of employees impacted by these <br /> compensation changes. <br />
