The quoted price is $556,604.59 + $57,886.88 (10.4% vehicle sales tax) = $614,491.47 Due to an anticipated price increase by Owen Equipment, ordering the truck by February 24 will save the City approximately $31,000. Therefore, authorization to purchase the truck is time sensitive. Project summary statement: Public Works Water division needs to replace an existing 2010 Volvo/Vactor sewer cleaner (H0047). H0047 has exceeded its useful life and is scheduled to be replaced. The equipment is used to clean sewer and drainage mains to prevent them from backing up. It is also used to safely excavate and prevent potential damage around other existing utilities in the road, such as gas, power, and water mains. Additionally, the equipment is necessary to keep the City in compliance with its National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) stormwater permit and its sewer collection permit. The Peterbilt 567 15-yard Vactor suction truck is available for purchase from Owen Equipment Company through the Washington State Department of Enterprise Services competitively bid contract #00120/EVT #2021-024. The City has an Interlocal Agreement with Washington State that allows for purchases from its competitively awarded contracts in lieu of soliciting bids on our own. Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): Award and authorize purchase of one Peterbilt 567 15-yard Vactor suction truck to Owen Equipment Company from Washington State Department of Enterprise Services Contract #00120/EVT #2021-024 for $614,491.47, including Washington state sales tax.
