Therefore, authorization to purchase the <br />truck is time sensitive. <br />Project summary statement: <br />Public Works Water division needs to replace an existing 2010 Volvo/Vactor sewer <br />cleaner (H0047). H0047 has exceeded its useful life and is scheduled to be replaced. <br />The equipment is used to clean sewer and drainage mains to prevent them from backing <br />up. It is also used to safely excavate and prevent potential damage around other <br />existing utilities in the road, such as gas, power, and water mains. Additionally, the <br />equipment is necessary to keep the City in compliance with its National Pollutant <br />Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) stormwater permit and its sewer collection <br />permit. <br />The Peterbilt 567 15-yard Vactor suction truck is available for purchase from Owen <br />Equipment Company through the Washington State Department of Enterprise Services <br />competitively bid contract #00120/EVT #2021-024. The City has an Interlocal Agreement <br />with Washington State that allows for purchases from its competitively awarded <br />contracts in lieu of soliciting bids on our own. <br />Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): <br />Award and authorize purchase of one Peterbilt 567 15-yard Vactor suction truck to <br />Owen Equipment Company from Washington State Department of Enterprise Services <br />Contract #00120/EVT #2021-024 for $614,491.47, including Washington state sales tax. <br />
