WHEREAS,THE EVERETT CITY COUNCIL FINDS: <br /> 1. The City purchased the subject 15 acre area in 2008. <br /> 2. The purpose for the requested Comprehensive Plan amendment and rezone is to allow the <br /> Everett Parks Department to recognize the use of the subject site as a public park area, <br /> 3. To allow the use of the South Everett Forest Preserve Park to occur,the City needs to amend <br /> the Land Use Map of the Comprehensive Plan from 1.2 (Single Family) and 1.6 (Multiple <br /> Family) to 2.0 (Park/Public Open Space) see Exhibit A, and to change zoning from R-1 <br /> (Single Family) and R-3 (Multiple Family)to P (Public Park Zone) see Exhibit B, <br /> 4. The public health, safety and welfare would be provided for by passage of this Ordinance, <br /> and <br /> 5. The proposed Comprehensive Plan map amendment and rezone promotes the best long term <br /> interest of the Everett Community. <br /> WHEREAS CITY COUNCIL CONCLUDES: <br /> 1. The public health, safety and welfare would be provided for by amending the Comprehensive <br /> Plan land use map designation from 1.2 (Single Family) and 1.6 (Multiple Family)to 2.0 <br /> (Park/Public Open Space),and to change zoning from R-1 (Single Family)and R-3 <br /> (Multiple Family)to P (Public Park Zone), <br /> 2. The public health, safety and welfare will be provided for by this proposal, and <br /> 3. The proposed Comprehensive Plan amendment and rezone promotes the best long term <br /> interest of the Everett Community. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: Amendment of the Land Use Map of the Comprehensive Plan. <br /> The Comprehensive Plan land use map designation of the property located south of Bruskrud <br /> Road, west of I-5,is hereby amended from 1.2 (Single Family) and 1.6 (Multiple Family)to 2.0 <br /> (Park/Public Open Space), as depicted in Exhibit A, amending Ordinance No. 2021-94, as <br /> amended. <br /> - 2 - <br />
