1. Pay for Specialty Assignments shall be as follows: <br /> 2. After ten(10)years of paramedic service in the Everett Fire Department,Paramedics shall <br /> receive an additional 3%attached to his/her base salary. <br /> 3. Station Captains shall receive an additional 3%attached to base salary. One Station Captain shall <br /> be assigned at each fire station. Station 1 will have two Station Captains assigned to it. Station <br /> Captains will be subject to station assignment. Station Captain eligibility will be based on <br /> seniority. <br /> 4. Hazardous Materials Technician: Team members shall receive an additional 3%attached to their <br /> base salary. <br /> 5. Technical Rescue Technician: Team members shall receive an additional 3%attached to their <br /> base salary. <br /> 6. Marine Team Program: <br /> 7. Coxswain shall receive an additional 3%attached to their base salary. <br /> 8. Deck Hand will receive an additional 1.5%attached to their base salary. <br /> 9. Rescue Swimmer Program: Rescue Swimmers will receive an additional 3%attached to their <br /> base salary. <br /> 10. Non-classified Paramedics: Employees who maintain the Washington State Paramedic <br /> Certification after promoting out of the paramedic classification will have 3%attached to their <br /> base salary,and the employees are eligible for all provisions of Article 20, Section 2 regarding <br /> continuing medical education. Paramedics who have achieved Senior Paramedic Status may <br /> upon voluntary demotion to firefighter have the 3%attached to their base salary under the <br /> foregoing conditions. <br /> 11. All personnel filling positions#1—#8 above shall comply with the Everett Fire Department Rules and <br /> Regulations governing these positions. <br /> 12. An employee shall not receive more than six(6)percent specialty pay. Senior paramedic,and <br /> Station Captain do not count for six(6)percent cap for specialty pay. Each member will be <br /> limited to one specialty(HazMat,Rescue,Marine Team,Rescue Swimmer,NCPM)Existing dual <br /> specialty members are grandfathered in. <br /> Deferred Compensation: <br /> In lieu of FICA contributions,the City will contribute to each bargaining unit member in addition to that <br /> employee's monthly salary,deferred earned compensation each month to a City-sponsored Section 457 <br /> Deferred Compensation Program. Effective January 1,2022,the City's monthly contribution to the <br /> Deferred Compensation Program will be 5.0%of a First-Class Firefighter's base wage. <br /> The deferred compensation is separate pay and is not part of the base monthly salary as codified in the <br /> City of Everett Basic Salary Schedule Ordinance. The provision is subject to the City's deferred <br /> compensation rules and regulations adopted by City Council and IRS regulations, and the computation of <br /> 10 <br />
