LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING <br /> REGARDING <br /> CIVIL SERVICE LISTS <br /> This Letter,as approved by the Everett City Council and Everett Firefighters,Local 46,shall take <br /> precedence over any inconsistent provisions of the collective bargaining agreement,City ordinances, <br /> and/or Civil Service rules. <br /> 1. The Union agrees to support the City before the Civil Service Commission whenever the City determines <br /> that is necessary to post a Call for Applicants for and Civil Service classified position above Entry Level <br /> Firefighters. <br /> 2. The City agrees that,upon the request of the Union,the City will approach the Civil Service Commission <br /> and request a Call for Applicants for any Civil Service Classified position above Entry Level Firefighters. <br /> 3. Applicants must meet the provisions of Article 23—Line of Progression,for time in service requirements to <br /> take promotional examinations,provided that time in service requirements different than in Article 23 may <br /> be utilized by mutual agreement between the City and Union. <br /> 4. A supplemental certified list resulting from the above process will then be tacked onto any valid,existing <br /> list for the position(the*host*list). <br /> 5.
