However, the submitted documents are not sufficient
for us to perform a review at this time. Construction -level documents need to be submitted for
review. Preliminary comments are provided below to assist in preparing the drawings, but these are not
intended to provide a comprehensive review.
1. The proposed project involves work on an R-2 occupancy with more than 4 dwelling units. The
drawings are required to be sealed and signed by an architect licensed in the state of Washington per
RCW Chapter 18.08.410.
2. The drawings are not sufficient to detail the work to be performed. Construction -level drawings should
be provided. The construction of stairways is required to comply with IBC Section 1011. Sections and
details for the required construction should be included in the drawings.
3. Continuing with the previous comment, the project includes the removal of GWB. The following
comments should be addressed:
a. Details should be provided for list tested assemblies providing the required level of fire
protection. The construction type of the building should be specified in the plans.
b. Details for penetrations through the fire -rated assemblies should be provided. See IBC Sections
714.4 and 714.5.
c. The exterior walls should be insulated per the residential provisions of the 2018 WSEC Chapter
5.
d. The wall and horizontal assemblies should comply with the sound requirements of IBC Section
1206. At a minimum, the originally permitted performance must be maintained.
Review of your project will be performed in the order received once the required documentation has been
submitted. Please let me know if you have questions.
_ Drew Martin, P.E., S.E.
- Associate Engineer —Commercial Plans Examiner I Permit Services
425.257.8813 13200 Cedar Street, 2"d Floor, Everett, WA 98201
EVERETT Hours: M/W/Th/F: 7:30am-12:00pm & 1:00pm-3:00pm; Tu: 1:00pm-3:00pm
everettwa.i;ov I Facebook I Twitter
COVID-19 Update: Please reference our website & online resources for updates to our service during the
COVID-19 pandemic.
