Fire <br />started in the interior of wall in bottom plate and limits of scorching damage is about 6" radius from that point. Access was cut <br />from interior by fire department for firefighting damaging nearby studs. <br />Work proposed is to sister damaged king stud rather than invasively try to remove remaining portion, replace missing section with <br />cut to fit new piece, and add new cripple studs under window sill to replace missing support. All of this will be over a new bottom <br />plate laid on top of existing plate to bridge the burned gap. Notches or drillings as necessary to allow electrical wiring to be routed <br />from entry door light switch to nearby wall outlet under window. Fill affected area wall voids with fiberglass insulation. Replace <br />damaged exterior sheathing with 3/4" plywood as needed. After structural repairs are made interior drywall will be repaired as <br />will exterior vinyl siding (2 courses) to as best match as possible with existing finishes. <br />ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: I have reviewed this application and confirm the information contained herein is true and correct.
