The funding is to establish a <br />two-year therapeutic program to identify individuals before the courts with substance <br />use disorder (SUD) or other behavioral health needs and engage those individuals with <br />community -based therapeutic interventions. Specifically, the program will: (1) Offer <br />SUD assessments at the earliest intercept at the courthouses; (2) Accelerate enrollment <br />into drug programs by shortening the time between assessment and entry into <br />treatment; (3) Provide peer support services; and (4) Utilize various case management <br />services to manage cases to successful outcomes, which include stability, community <br />responsibility, and a plan for sustaining ongoing success. The Courts have chosen to <br />work with Bridgeways, the local not -for -profit organization that also does work for the <br />courts' Mental Health Alternatives Program, to carry out the grant activities. <br />Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): <br />Authorize Mayor to sign the Professional Services Agreement with City of <br />Marysville and Bridgeways in substantially the form provided <br />
