Anytime a
building with an existing single check backflow device applies for a modification to their sprinkler system the backflow
device must be brought up to the minimum double check detector check valve assembly. I have attached the section
from our Design and Construction Standards and Specifications. Please apply for a Utility Permit and provide a plan
showing the DCDA location and cut sheets for approval. Once we approve the Utility permit for the DCDA we can
approve the corresponding Fire Sprinkler permit. If you have any questions on the backflow device requirements please
contact Tim Markham who is also copied on this email. His direct phone number is 425-257-8833 as well.
Terri Jorgenson
iii
IIIIDevelopment Technician I Permit Services
425.257.8810 13200 Cedar Street, 2nd Floor, Everett,WA 98201
EVERETT Phone Hours: M/W/Th: 8 a.m.—12 p.m & 1 p.m.—3 p.m.
everettwa.gov/permits I Facebook I Twitter
Note:Emails and attachments sent to and from the City of Everett are public records and may be subject to disclosure pursuant to the Public
Records Act.
1
