(HBI) is pleased to present the design for ground improvement for the proposed <br /> Waterfront Apartment buildings. The purpose of the ground improvement program is to strengthen and <br /> stiffen the existing subsurface soils to provide support for the proposed structure foundations and to mitigate <br /> the seismic liquefaction and lateral spreading hazard impacts to the buildings. The ground improvement <br /> consists of a system of cement deep soil mix (CDSM) columns arranged in rows to make panels and as <br /> single columns. This report presents the details of the CDSM design performed by HBI. <br /> The design provided herein has been prepared for the exclusive use of HBI,with our specialized equipment <br /> and production procedures,and our client under the following strict limitations: <br /> 1.
