BACKWATER VALVE AUTHORIZATION <br /> 1. Pertnission to Insoect. 'Ihe Owncr grants pertnission to the City and its contractor to <br /> inspect the plumbing and drainege of che Qwner's property for the purpose of gathering <br /> information regarding whether e backwater valve should be inrtalled. Thc City and <br /> Owner will cooperate to determine a mutuelly a�eeable time for the inspection. The <br /> inspection is at thc City's sole cost. <br /> 2. IIackwater Valve. <br /> A. Ci� Review of Inspection and Yertnission to Install Backwater Valve. The City <br /> will review the rcsults of the inspcction and will detertnine whether a backwatcr <br /> valve should be instelled. By signing this authorization, the Owner grants the <br /> City and its conhactor permission to install the backweter velve if the City <br /> determines that a backwatcr valve should be installcd. This installetion is at the <br /> City's sole cost. <br /> B. Other Devices. There may be other devices that provide es good as (or greater) <br /> protection than a backwater valvc. By signing this authorization, the Owner <br /> �ants the City and its wnVactor permission to install the other device if thc City <br /> detr mincs that it should be installed. This installation is at the City's sole wst. <br /> Howevcr, if the Owncr desires installalion of the other device, but the City h�s <br /> dctermined to only install a backwater velve,then the Owner may install the other <br /> device, end the City will rcimburse the Owner up to thc installation cost of thc <br /> backwater valve. <br /> C. Fature Maintenance. Upon installation,the backwater velve or other devicc is the <br /> O�mer's property. The Owner is exclusively responsible to maintain il. <br /> 3. Othcr Rccommended Improvements. Afler thc completion of the inspection, the City <br /> may provide the Owncr with e list of other recommcnded improvements to the praperty's <br /> plumbing end drainage systcros.
