PUBL/C N/OR/CSr March 12, 2014 Boyce Cardell 111U Hewitt Ave Everett, WA 98201 Re: Backwater Valve Installation at 1110 Hewitt Ave ( Dear Boyce Cardell: The Ci[y's contractor, Steve's Plumbing, inspected your plumbing and dreinage on October 7, 2013 to determine if a backwater valve is appropriate fur your property.The r findings indicate that installing a backwa[er valve on your property would be beneficial. Please review the enclosed report. k Previously, you signed the Backwater Valve Authorization Form authorizing the City to install a backwater valve at your property. Based on the inspection report, we are proceeding with the installation.The Cftv's contractor Archer Construction.wfll be con�cena vou in March to schedule the work.This will require some excavation on your property. The City will provide you on-site training on the operation and maintenan�e of the backwater valve. Maintenance of the valve and the piumbing, sewer, and drainage on your property are your responsibility.The inspection identified additional site drainage and plumbing deficiencies in your private drainage and plumbing system. These include: • Outside roof drainage needs French drains installed on the south side, or some means to safely discharge this water. . The side sewer is clogged with debris which needs to be removed. Triese deficiencies are your responsibility to address, as you desire.The City is not responsible for future sewer or storm damages that may result from improper maintenance of, or deficiencies within, your private plumbing and dreinage system.
