'fhc U�tmcr grants permission to tlic Ciry and its contractor to <br />inspeot thc plumbino and drainage of the Owner's property for the purpose of gatlrering <br />inforniation rcgardin� whcthcr a Uackwater valve should be installed. 7�he City and <br />Ovmer will cooperatc to dctenninc a mutually a�•eeable �imc for the inspection. The <br />inspection is at thc City's sole cost. <br />2. IIackwater Valve. <br />A. City Review of Insacction and Pemtission to install l3ackwater Valve. 'I�he City <br />will review the results of tl�c inspection and will dcterminc whethcr a backwater <br />vulve should he installed. By signing this authorization, the O�mcr grants thc <br />Cit}� and its contractor permi•,sion to install the backwatcr valve if the City <br />determu�es that a backwater valve sliould be installcd. This installation is at the <br />City's sole cost. <br />I3. Other Devices. Thece may be other devices that provide as good as (or greater) <br />protection than a baclavater valve. By si�ting this authorization. thc Owner <br />grants the City and its conttactor permission to install the othcr device if the City <br />determines that it should be installed. This installalion is at thc City's sole cost. <br />However, if the Ovmer dcsires instullation of the other device, but thc City has <br />detcrmined to only install a backwater valve, thcn il�e Owner msy install the othct <br />device, ar�d the City will reimburse the O�+mer up to the installation cost of the <br />backwater valve. <br />C. Future Maintenancc. Upon installation, thc bacicwater valve or othcr device is d�e <br />O�r��er's property. 'Che Owner is exclusively responsible to maintain it. <br />Other Recommended Im�o��ements. After the completion of the inspection, the City <br />may pro��ide the Owner wiih a tist oC other recommended improvements to the property's <br />plumbing and drainage systems.
