EXHIBIT A
Imagine Children's Museum—Everett Transit
Education Program Plan 2022-24
Goals
Imagine Children's Museum proposes to offer a suite of playful learning opportunities to schools and
families within Everett Transit's service area. The goals of this education program are:
1) Raise awareness of the mass transit services available in Everett(specifically the Everett Transit
system and Everett Station transit hub)
2) Inform children and families of the practical benefits of using Everett Transit for their local
transportation needs
3) Offer local classroom teachers'ways to bring transit learning opportunities to their students
that help to meet their students' learning goals
4) Provide children with playful learning opportunities that will build positive experiences around
using transit.
Program Components
To meet these goals, Imagine offers the following program components:
1) Everett Transit Bus Exhibit at the Museum:All visitors to the Museum have the opportunity to
sit behind the wheel of our Bus Exhibit. The steering wheel and realistic controls give children a
playful positive experience with riding the bus. Everett Transit's logo and bus schedules
provided in the exhibit educate visitors on the place of Everett Transit in the community.
2) Transit program during Free Access Nights at the Museum:Visitors to the Museum's Free
Access Nights have the opportunity to ride an Everett Transit bus to and from Everett Station.
During the bus ride and the short walking tour of the station, children and families learn
practical information about riding the bus,as well as the role of Everett Station in the region's
transit system.
3) Transit On-the-Go classroom program: In this one-hour classroom program (available as an in-
person or online opportunity) led by an Imagine educator, students learn practical skills such as
reading a bus schedule and determining the best way to travel to destinations around Everett.
This class is offered free of charge to 4'h and 5'h grade classes and helps to meet ELA learning
standards related to reading informational texts.
4) Transit Goes Green classroom program:This newly created one-hour classroom program is for
students in 1st through 3rd grades.Through hands-on activities and simulations,students learn
the environmental benefits of Everett Transit's electric bus fleet,as well as practical rules for
riding the bus. This class helps students to meet science learning standards related to forces,
