r <br /> i <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 3645 <br /> AN ORDINANCE FIXING AND DETERMINING THE NUMBER OF THE <br /> VARIOUS OFFICERS, ASSISTANTS, DEPUTIES AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY <br /> OF EVERETT; PRESCRIBING THE DUTIES OF SUCH OFFICERS, ASSISTANTS, <br /> DEPUTIES AND EMPLOYEES; FIXING THEIR SALARIES; PROVIDING FOR <br /> MEDICAL SERVICES; REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 3581 OF THE CITY OF <br /> EVERETT; and DECLARING THIS ORDINANCE SHALL TAKE EFFECT ON <br /> JANUARY 1, 1958. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That beginning January 1, 1958 and on and <br /> after said date, the various officers, assistants, deputies and <br /> employees of the City of Everett, in addition to those provided <br /> for in the Charter of the City of Everett, shall be as in this <br /> ordinance provided. <br /> Section 2 : CITY ATTORNEY DEPARTMENT <br /> There shall be in the office of the City Attorney a <br /> Special City Attorney, a stenographer and a relief stenographer <br /> (all part time) . <br /> Said Special City Attorney and said stenographer shall <br /> perform such duties as the City Attorney may authorize and direct, <br /> Section 3: CITY HALL DEPARTMENT <br /> There shall be in the City Hall Department one <br /> janitor and one assistant janitor. Said janitor and said assist- <br /> ant janitor shall perform the janitor work in connection with the <br /> City Hall. <br /> Section 4: LIBRARY DEPARTMENT <br /> There shall be in the Library Department the follow- <br /> ing named officers, assistants and employees, to-wit: <br /> One Director, Five Librarians, Three Library <br /> Assistants, one Janitor, four Library Clerks, <br /> one Library Clerk (part time) , one or more <br /> partime pages and extras. <br /> The Director shall be in general charge and shall <br /> have supervision of the Library Department. The other officers, <br /> assistants and employees shall perform such duties as pertain <br /> to the nature of their office and as authorized and directed by <br /> the Director. <br /> Section 5: CIVIL SERVICE DEPARTMENT <br /> There shall be in the Civil Service Department the <br /> following named officers, to-wit: <br /> One Secretary (part time) , one Assistant <br /> Examiner (part time) , one or more Special <br /> Examiners (part time) . <br /> The Secretary, Assistant Examiner and other assist- <br /> ants shall perform such duties as the Civil Service Commission <br /> shall authorize and direct. <br /> -1- <br />
