I <br /> . - <br /> ORDINANCE NO. <br /> 3608 <br /> AN ORDINANCE relating to electric wiring; regulating the <br /> installation, alteration, repair, use and operation of connections, <br /> fixtures and other electrical appliances in buildings and structures <br /> providing for the adoption of the national Electric Code as edited <br /> by the National Board of Fire Underwriters as recommended by the <br /> National Fire Protection Association; and providing for the <br /> adoption of the rules and regulations for installing electric wires <br /> ►j and equipment as issued by the Department of Labor & Industries, <br /> Division of Safety, State of Washington, January 15, 1954+; providing <br /> that said codes shall supplement existing ordinances of the City of <br /> Everett; and superseding Ordinance No. 32+51 of the City of Everett. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1 : That the 1956 National Electric Code, stan- <br /> dard of the National Board of Fire Underwriters, for electric wir- <br /> ing <br /> and apparatus as recommended by the National Fire Protection <br /> �( Association, is hereby adopted as the electric code and ordinance <br /> of the City of Everett, there being three copies of said electric <br /> code on file with the City Clerk of the City of Everett, and such <br /> Code by reference is hereby made a part of this ordinance as though <br /> fully set forth herein. <br /> Section 2 : That the rules and regulations for install- <br /> 0 ing electric wires and equipment as issued by the Department of <br /> Labor & Industries of the State of Washington, January 15, 1954, <br /> is hereby adopted as the electric code and ordinance of the City of <br /> Everett, there being three copies of said Electric Code on file <br /> e with the City Clerk of the City of Everett, and such Code by refer- <br /> ence is hereby made a part of this ordinance as though fully set <br /> forth herein. <br /> Section 3: That the 1956 National Electric Code as <br /> hereby adopted, as set forth in Section 1 hereof, shall not super- <br /> f sede any of the existing ordinances of the City of Everett nor in <br /> any way supersede Ordinance No. 1655, but shall only supplement <br /> said ordinance in matters not fully covered by said ordinance or <br /> other ordinances of the City of Everett. <br /> Section 4: That the rules and regulations for electric <br /> wires and equipment issued by the Department of Labor &Industries <br /> I for the State of Washington, January 15, 1954, as adopted by <br /> Section 2 hereof, shall not supersede any existing ordinances of <br /> the City, of Everett, or any provisions of Ordinance No. 1655, nor <br /> shall it supersede any of the rules and regulations of the 1956 <br /> National Electric Code, but shall only supplement the same when <br /> said Code or ordinances do not fully cover the subject matter. <br /> Section 5 : That Ordinance No. 3451 be, and the same is <br /> hereby superseded. <br /> MAYOR <br /> Attest: <br /> 9 <br /> /71/11 <br /> Cit T Cl 'k <br /> Passed : March 5, 1957 <br /> Published: March 6, 1957 <br />
