ORDINANCE NO. 3604 <br /> 1 <br /> AN ORDINANCE prohibiting the hanging or suspending of <br /> banners, signs or decorations across the public streets and <br /> thoroughfares of the City of Everett, except at the celebration of <br /> the 4th of July and Christmas, and then only when licensed by the <br /> City Council. <br /> N0W, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1 : It shall be unlawful for any person to hang <br /> or suspend any sign, banner or decoration of any kind over or <br /> across any public street or thoroughfare of the City of Everett, <br /> except at the celebration of the 4th of July and Christmas, and <br /> then only when licensed by the City Council. ' <br /> Section 2: Any person desiring to hang or suspend any <br /> sign, banner or decoration of any kind over or across the public <br /> streets or thoroughfares of the City of Everett at the celebration <br /> of the 4th of July and Christmas as provided in Section 1 hereof, <br /> shall make application to the City Council of the City of Everett j <br /> for a license and shall furnish to the City of Everett a bond in <br /> the sum of $5000.O0 conditioned that he will save harmless the <br /> City of Everett from any and all claims arising out of his acts in 5 <br /> connection with said permit. The City Council shall, if it shall <br /> find said person competent to erect said signs, banners or <br /> decorations, grant a license to that person and shall set forth the! <br /> conditions as to the time of erection, removal, height and such <br /> other regulations as shall be necessary for the protection of the f <br /> general public. <br /> Section 3: Any person hanging or suspending any sign, <br /> banner or decoration across the public streets and thoroughfares <br /> of the City of Everett without a license at such time as permitted x . <br /> in this ordinance shall be guilty of a violation of this ordinance. <br /> Section 4: Any person violating any provision of this <br /> ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction <br /> thereof shall be punished by a fine of n100.00 or imprisonment in <br /> the City Jail for a period of 30 days, or by both such fine and <br /> imprisonment. <br /> Section 5 : That Ordinance No. '2387 be, and the same is <br /> hereby repealed. <br /> . a..(,,e-4,1,4-,e-41.--‘v4 <br /> -C-al°6-7 <br /> M A Y O R <br /> Attest: <br /> >1:14)-/ Z,,, , ,.,4 <br /> ' .., 1. 4pitik ,,,,‘Z <br /> City C1 k <br /> Passed: Feb. 13, 1957 <br /> Published: Feb. 14, 1957 <br />
