ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE regulating the sale, installation, mainten- ance, and repair of appliances designed to employ natural or any type of gas as a fuel; and regulating the installation, mainten- ance, and repair of all pipes extending from the point of delivery, designed to convey or carry gas to such appliances within the corporate limits of the City of Everett, Washington; providing for the inspection of said pipes and/or appliances; providing for the issuance of permits for the installation or repair of said pipes or appliances and the collection of inspection fees therefor; providing for the licensing of persons engaged in the business of installing or repairing said pipes or appliances; providing for the adoption by reference of the following codes as part of this ordinance : NBFU No. 54 Standards of the National Board of Fire Underwriters for the Installation of Gas Piping and Gas Appliances in Buildings. NBFU No. 58 Standards of the National Board of Fire Underwriters for the Storage and Handling of Liquefied Petroleum Gases. NBFU No. 59 Standards of the National Baord of Fire Underwriters for the Storage and Handling of Liquefied Petroleum Gases at Utility Gas Plants. ASA B31.1.8 Section 8 of American Standard Code on Pressure Piping. Rules and regulations pertaining to matters of public safety and construction and operation of facilities for trans- mission and distribution of gases adopted by the Washington Public Service Commission November 4, 1955. providing penalties for the violation of this ordinance, and re- pealing all ordinances in conflict herewith, and declaring an emergency to exist. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: SECTION 1 - TITLE This ordinance shall be known as the "Gas Ordinance" of the City of Everett, Washington, and may be cited as such. -1-
