IOL II t %- ORDINANCE NO. 3530 AN ORDINANCE LEVYING THE GENERAL TAXES FOR THE CITY OF EVERETT FOR THE FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING JANUARY 1, 1956, ON ALL TAX- ABLE PROPERTY, BOTH REAL AND PERSONAL, IN SAID CITY, SUBJECT TO TAXATION THEREON, FOR THE PURPOSES OF RAISING A PORTION OF THE REVENUE TO CARRY ON THE DIFFERENT DEPARTMENTS OF SAID CITY FOR THE ENSUING YEAR, AS REQUIRED BY THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF EVERETT AND THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON PRESCRIBING AND APPORTIONING THE SAME INTO THE DIFFERENT FUNDS OF SAID CITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR, AND PROVIDING FOR THE COLLECTION THEREOF. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Everett duly and regularly adopted as required by law, the estimate of the amounts required to meet the public expense of said City for the ensuing year and the amounts to be raised by taxation in said City for said ensuing year from sources other than direct taxation; and WHEREAS, notice that said City Council tentatively com- pleted the budget for the year 1956, and that a copy of said budget would be furnished any taxpayer of the City of Everett on applicatiort therefor, and that the City Council of said City would meet in the Council Chamber of the City Hall at 10:00 A.M. on the 3rd day of October, 1955, for the purpose of fixing the final budget and designating the tax levy and that any taxpayer might appear thereat and be heard for or against any part of said budget, was published in the official newspaper in all respects as required by law, and WHEREAS, the City Council did on the 3rd day of October, 1955, meet in the Council Chamber for said purpose and did continue the hearing on said budget from day to day to the 7th day of October 1955, for the purpose aforesaid, and having heard all persons appearing in favor of or against said proposed levy did then and there make, determine and decide the amount of taxes to be placed upon the current assessment roll to be in the sum of $634,235.27. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: That there be, and hereby is levied upon real and personal property in the City of Everett, subject to taxation thereon, a general property tax for municipal purposes for the ensuing year, commencing on January 1, 1956, in the sum of $634,235.27. Section 2: That said taxes shall be apportioned to the various funds of said City for the year 1955, as follows : General Current Expense Fund $511,774.66 Firemen' s Pension Fund 73, 110.69 General Water Bond No. 2 Sinking Fund 42,036.65 General Water Bond No. 2 Interest Fund 7,311.07 $634,235.27 Section 3 : That the City Clerk be, and he is hereby Idirected to certify to the County Assessor a copy of this ordinance in order that the same may be extended upon the general assessment roll of said County, in the same manner and at the same time as the levy for State and County taxes is extended.
