? ` . w r r <br /> 1� ' i <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 3 2- <br /> AN ORDINANCE FIXING AND DETER v!INING THE NUMBER OF THE <br /> VARIOUS O.EF'FICERS, ASSISTANTS, DEPUTIES AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF <br /> EVERETT; PRESCRIBING `. ah ATTIES OF SUCH OFFICERS, ASSISTANTS, <br /> DEPUTIES AND EMPLOYEES; FIXIaG THEIR SALARIES; REPEALING ORDINANCE <br /> NO. 3442 OF THE CITY OF EVERETT; THAT AN EMERGENCY IS HEREBY <br /> DECLARED TO EXIST AND THIS ORDINANCE SHALL TAKE EFFECT ON JANUARY 1, <br /> 1955. <br /> NO„ , THEREFORE THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That beginning January 1, 1955, and on and <br /> after said date, the various officers, assistants, deputies and <br /> employees of the City of Everett, in addition to those provided for <br /> in the Charter of the City of Everett, shall be as in this ordinance <br /> provided. <br /> Section 2: CITY ATTORNEY DEPARTKENT <br /> There shall be in the office of the City Attorney a Special <br /> City Attorney, a stenographer and a relief stenographer (part time) . <br /> Said Special City Attorney and said stenographer shall <br /> perform such duties as the City Attorney may authorize and direct, <br /> Section 3: CITY HALL DEPARTMENT <br /> There shall be in the City Hall Department one janitor <br /> and one assistant janitor. 'aid janitor and said assistant janitor <br /> shall perform the janitor work in connection with the City hall, <br /> Section 4: LIBRARY DEPARTANT <br /> There shall be in the Library Department the following <br /> named officers, assistants and employees, to-wit: <br /> One Librarian, five Professional Librarians, <br /> 5 Sub-Professional Librarians, Three Clerks, <br /> One Janitor, i.r%: • 446:4•0:14.. ..r. 1.;::nt , and <br /> one or more extra clerks, typists and other 'employees, <br /> (part time) . <br /> The Librarian shall be in general charge and shall have <br /> supervision of the Library Department. The other officers, <br /> assistants and employees shall perform such uties as pertain to the <br /> nature of their office and as authorized and directed by the <br /> Librarian. <br /> Section 5: CIVIL SERVICE DEPART-, ENT <br /> There shall be in the Civil Service Department the follow- <br /> ' in` named officers, to-wit: <br /> One Secretary (part time) ; one Assistant Examiner <br /> (part time) ; One or more Special -xaminers (part time) <br /> The Secretary, AssistantExaminer and other assistants <br /> shall perform such duties as the Civil Service Commission shall <br /> authorize and direct. <br />
