ORDINANCE NO. 3489 AN ORDINANCE LEVYING THE GENERAL TAXES FOR ThE CIT-s OF EVERETT FOR THE FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING JANUARY 1 1955, ON ALL TAX- ALE PROPERTY, BOTH REAL AND PERSONAL, IN SAID CITY, SUBJECT TO TAXATION THEREON, FOR THE PURPOSES OF RAISING A PORTION OF THE REVENUE TO CARRY ON THE DIFFERENT DEPARTMENTS OF SAID CITY FOR THE ,'IuSUING YEAR, AS REQUIRED BY THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF EVERETT AND THE LAWS Or THE STATE OF V'ASHINGTON PRESCRIBING AND APPORTIONING THE SAME INTO THE DIFFERENT FUNDS OF SAID CITY FOR TEE FISCAL YEAR, AND PROVIDING FOR THE COLLECTION THEREOF. IHEREAS, the City Council of the City of 'verett duly and regularly adopted as required by law, the estimate of the amounts required to meet the public expense of said City for the ensuing year and the amounts to be raised by taxation in said City for said ensuing year from sources other than direct taxation; and t�VBEREAS, notice that said City Council tentatively completed the budget for the year 1955, and that a copy of said budget would be furnished any taxpayer of the City of Everett on application therefor, and that the City Council of said City would meet in the Council Chamber of the City Hall at 10:00 A.M. on the 4th day of October, 1954, for the purpose of fixing the final budget and designating the tax levy and that any taxpayer might appear thereat and be heard for or against any part of said budget, was published in the official newspaper in all respects as required by law, and WHEREAS, the. City Council did on the 4th day of October, 1954, meet in the Council Chamber for said purpose and did continue the hearing on said budget from day to day to the llth day of October, 1954, for the purpose aforesaid, and having heard all persons appearing in favor of or against said proposed levy did then and there make, determine and decide the amount of taxes to be placed upon the current assessment roll to be in the sum of 5670456.10. PNEr�EFOt'RE, THE CITY OF ;_ VERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: That there be, and hereby is levied upon real and personal property in the City of Everett, subject to taxation thereon, a general property tax for municipal purposes for the ensuing year, commencing on January 1, 1955, in the sum of 567, 456. 10. Section 2: That said taxes shall be apportioned to the various funds of said City for the year 1955, as follows: General Current Expense Fund 453,964.88 Firemen' s Pension Fund 64,852.12 General hater Bond No. 2 Sinking Fund 40,532. 58 General Water Bond No. 2 Interest Fund 8,106.52 567,456.10 Section 3: That the City Clerk be, and he is hereby direct- ed to certify to the County Assessor a copy of this ordinance in order that the same may be extended upon the general assessment roll of said County, in the same manner and at the same time as the levy for State and County taxes is extended.
