• <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 3.79 <br /> AV ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1655 OF ThEEE CITY OF <br /> EVERETT ENTITTED: <br /> An ordinance regulating the installation, erection, <br /> alteration, repair, use and operation of electric <br /> wiring, connections, fixtures, and other electrical <br /> appliances in buildings and other structures in the <br /> • <br /> City of Everett, providing a penalty for the <br /> violation thereof, repealing all ordinances and <br /> parts of ordinances in conflict herewith, and <br /> declaring an emergency. <br /> BY AMENDING SECTION 13 THEREOF. <br /> NO , THERE' ORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That Ordinance No. 1655 of the City of Everett <br /> be, and the same is hereby amended by amending Section 13 thereof <br /> as follows: <br /> Section 13: The following requirements shall be <br /> mandatory as to all existing buildings and all new con- <br /> structions: <br /> (a) Rigid Conduit or Electric Metallic Tubing shall <br /> be required for all wiring of any buildings within Fire <br /> Zone No. 1 and No. 2 of the City of Everett. <br /> (b) All apartment houses, school buildings and <br /> buildings to be used for the purpose of public assembly <br /> shall be equipped with Rigid Conduit or Electric <br /> Metallic Tubing, except where it is impossible to in- <br /> stall Rigid Conduit or Electric Metallic 'Tubing the <br /> City Electrical Inspector may permit the use of Flexible <br /> Conduit. <br /> (c) In public buildings, factories, warehouses, <br /> hotels or apartment houses containing more than two <br /> (2) apartments, all wiring where th4 voltage is over <br /> twenty-four (24) volts shall be installed in Rigid Con- <br /> duit or Electric Metallic Tubing. `,here it is <br /> impossible to install Rigid Conduit or Electric <br /> Metallic Tubing, the City Electrical Inspector may <br /> permit the use of Flexible Conduit. <br /> (d) All conduits, conduit boxes and conduit out- <br /> let boxes, except outlets used with knob and tube <br /> wiring, shall be galvanized or sheradized. <br /> (e) Service entrance conductors shall be in Rigid <br /> Conduit or Electrical metallic Tubing. <br /> (f) Size of neutral conductor No. 4 shall be Type <br /> R. <br /> Size of ungrounded service conductor Two No. <br /> 4 shall be Type R. <br /> Size of service conduit shall be 74 inch. <br />
