• ORDINANCE NO. 3.79 AV ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1655 OF ThEEE CITY OF EVERETT ENTITTED: An ordinance regulating the installation, erection, alteration, repair, use and operation of electric wiring, connections, fixtures, and other electrical appliances in buildings and other structures in the • City of Everett, providing a penalty for the violation thereof, repealing all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith, and declaring an emergency. BY AMENDING SECTION 13 THEREOF. NO , THERE' ORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: That Ordinance No. 1655 of the City of Everett be, and the same is hereby amended by amending Section 13 thereof as follows: Section 13: The following requirements shall be mandatory as to all existing buildings and all new con- structions: (a) Rigid Conduit or Electric Metallic Tubing shall be required for all wiring of any buildings within Fire Zone No. 1 and No. 2 of the City of Everett. (b) All apartment houses, school buildings and buildings to be used for the purpose of public assembly shall be equipped with Rigid Conduit or Electric Metallic Tubing, except where it is impossible to in- stall Rigid Conduit or Electric Metallic 'Tubing the City Electrical Inspector may permit the use of Flexible Conduit. (c) In public buildings, factories, warehouses, hotels or apartment houses containing more than two (2) apartments, all wiring where th4 voltage is over twenty-four (24) volts shall be installed in Rigid Con- duit or Electric Metallic Tubing. `,here it is impossible to install Rigid Conduit or Electric Metallic Tubing, the City Electrical Inspector may permit the use of Flexible Conduit. (d) All conduits, conduit boxes and conduit out- let boxes, except outlets used with knob and tube wiring, shall be galvanized or sheradized. (e) Service entrance conductors shall be in Rigid Conduit or Electrical metallic Tubing. (f) Size of neutral conductor No. 4 shall be Type R. Size of ungrounded service conductor Two No. 4 shall be Type R. Size of service conduit shall be 74 inch.
