I , ORDINANCE NO. 3478 AN ORDINANCE AIJENDING SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE NO. 835 , ENTITLED: I An Ordinance for the protection of public and private sewers, plumbing and drainage, and to provide for the mkking of connections therewith, and prescribing penalties for the violation thereof, and repealing all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: , Section 1: That Section 3 of Ordinance No. 835 as amend- i I ' ed by Ordinance No. 1118 and Ordinance No. 3455 be, and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: , 1 Section 3: POiERS AND DUTIES OF CERTAIN OFFICIALS. . The Commissioner of Public Works, the City Engineer or such other person as the Commissioner shall appoint, are hereby empowered, and it is hereby made their duty to compel the owners or the occupant of any lot or parcel of real property, the property line of which is located within 300 feet of a public sewer, to cause to be con- ' nected to such public sewer a sufficient sewer or drain , pipe from all buildings and structures located thereon used for human occupancy or for use for any other pur- i pose; Provided further, that said officers are hereby empowered and it is hereby their duty to compel the i owners or occupants of any lot or parcel of real pro- perty upon which pools, ditches, water courses or waste Ii water pipes are located, which are used as a receptacle or for drainage purposes, the property line of which is located within 300 feet of a combined or storm sewer, to cause to be connected a sufficient sewer or drain pipe from said pools, ditches, water courses or rrwaste water shall 1 pipes to the said sewer.
