ORDINANCE NO. 3450 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 13 OF ORDINANCE NO. 1655 OF <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT ENTITLED: <br /> An ordinance regulating the installation, erection, <br /> alteration, repair, use and operation of electric <br /> wiring, connections, fixtures, and other electrical <br /> appliances in buildings and other structures in the <br /> City of Everett, providing a penalty for the <br /> violation thereof, repealing all ordinances and <br /> parts of ordinances in conflict herewith, and declar- <br /> ing an emergency. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That Section 13 of Ordinance No. 1655 is hereby <br /> amended to read as follows: <br /> Section 13: The following requirements shall be man- <br /> datory as to all existing buildings and all new construction: <br /> (a) Rigid Conduit or Electric Metallic Tubing shall <br /> be required for all wiring of any buildings within Fire <br /> Zone No. 1 and No. 2 of the City of Lverett. <br /> (b) All apartment houses, school buildings and build- <br /> ings to be used for the purpose of public assembly shall <br /> be equipped with Rigid Conduit or Electric Metallic Tubing, <br /> except where it is impossible to install Rigid Conduit or <br /> Electric Metallic Tubing the City Electrical Inspector may <br /> permit the use of Flexible Conduit. <br /> (c) In public buildings, factories, warehouses, hotels, <br /> or apartment houses containing more than two (2) apartments, <br /> ill wiring where the voltage is over twenty-four (24) Volts <br /> shall be installed in Rigid Conduit or Electric Metallic <br /> Tubing. Where it is impossible to install Rigid Conduit <br /> or Electric Metallic Tubing, the City Electrical Inspector <br /> may permit the use of Flexible Conduit. <br /> (d) All conduits, conduit boxes and conduit outlet <br /> boxes, except outlets used with knob and tube wiring, shall <br /> be glvanized or sheradized. <br /> (e) Non-metallic sheathed cable, wooden raceways and <br /> cleat wiring shall not be used in the City of Everett. <br /> (f) Service entrance conductors shall be in Rigid <br /> Conduit or Electrical Metallic Tubing. <br /> (g) Size of neutral conductor No. 4 shall be Type Ro <br /> Size of ungrounded service conductor Two No. 4 <br /> shall be Type R. <br /> Size of service conduit shall be 14 inch. <br />
