a f+ i <br /> . <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 3446 <br /> AN ORDINANCE SUBMITTING TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE CITY <br /> OF EVERETT A PROPOSITION PROVIDING FOR THE TRANSFER OF A PORTION OF <br /> THE EVERETT MUNICIPAL GOLF COURSE TO EVERETT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 2 <br /> FOR THE PURPOSE OF ERECTING A JUNIOR COLLT'GE THEREON, AT A MUNICIPAL <br /> ELECTION TO BE HELD ON THE 9th DAY OF MARCH, 1954, and DIRECTING <br /> THE ELECTION BOARD OF THE CITY OF EVERETT TO CALL SAID ELECTION AT <br /> SAID TIME FOR SAID PURPOSE. <br /> WHEREAS, the Legislature of the State of Washington has, <br /> pursuant to Chapter 274 of the Laws of 1954, authorized the City of <br /> Everett to enter into an agreement with the Directors of Everett <br /> School District No. 2 providing for the sale and conveyance of <br /> a portion of the Everett Municipal Golf Course to Everett School <br /> District No. 2 for the purpose of erecting a Junior College, and <br /> WHEREAS,, the City Commissioners of the City of Everett and the <br /> Directors of verett School District No. 2 have entered into a <br /> contract providing for the transfer of said land, subject to <br /> approval of the electors of the City of Everett, <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DUES ORDAIN <br /> Section 1: That a municipal election be held on the 9th day , <br /> of March, 1954, at which time and place there shall be submitted <br /> to the electors of the City. of Everett for their approval the said <br /> contract heretofore entered into by and between the Directors of <br /> the Everett School District No. 2 and the City Commissioners of the <br /> City of Everett providing for the transfer of a portion of the <br /> Everett Municipal Golf Course as hereinafter described to Everett <br /> School District No. 2 for the purpose of erecting a Junior College, <br /> without consideration except as set forth in said contract on file <br /> with the City Clerk of the City of Everett and open for public <br /> inspection: <br /> Commencing at the City of Everett standard monument <br /> at the intersection of 9th Street and Lombard Avenue, <br /> thence east on the monument line of 9th Street 18 feet <br /> to the east property line of Lombard Avenue as platted <br /> in Swalwell 's 4th Addition; thence angle left 90' and <br /> following the east property line of Lombard Avenue <br /> for 184.47 feet to the north line of Swalwell 's 4th <br /> Addition, thence to point of beginning; thence contin- <br /> uing north on the east property line of Lombard Avenue <br /> produced in its present direction a .distance of 285.00 <br /> feet; thence angle left 67°12 '02" for a distance of <br /> 416.79 feet; thence angle left 22°46 ' 57" for a distance <br /> of 440.77 feet to the east line of the Plat of First <br /> Addition to Legion Park; thence angle left 89°28 '47" <br /> and following the east line of the Plat of First <br /> Addition to Legion Park for a distance of 443.77 feet <br /> to an intersection with the north line of Swalwell 's <br /> 4th Addition; thence angle left 90°2O '15" and follow- <br /> ing the north line of Swalwell' s 4th Addition for a <br /> distance of 829.16 feet to point of beginning, con- <br /> taining an area of 7.739 acres (being a portion of <br /> the City of Everett Municipal Golf Course within the <br /> city limits of the City of Everett) . <br />
