l ' ORDINANCE NO. 3439 !AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 7, ITEM 1r, OF ORDINANCE NO. 3139 OF THE CITY OF EVERETT ENTITLED: 1 AN ORDINANCE relating to and regulating the sale of 404 milk and milk products; providing for grading and for the inspection of the production and processing thereof; requiring permits ; defining offenses and prescribing penalties; and repealing Ordinance No. 21i110 and all i ordinances in conflict herewith. iii NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: 1 i Section 1: That Section 7, Item lr, of Ordinance No. i 3139 is hereby amended to read as follows : 1 {I ITEM lr. CO`,IS, TUBERCULOSIS AND OTHER DISEASES. Except as 1 provided hereinafter, a tuberculin test of all herds and additions thereto shall be made before any milk therefrom is sold and at least once every 12 months thereafter, by a ' licensed veterinarian approved by the Washington State Department of Agriculture. Said tests shall be made and j the reactors disposed of in accordance with the requirements approved by the health officer for accredited herds . A certificate signed by the veterinarian or attested to by i the health officer and filed with the health officer shall be evidence of the above test; Provided, that in modified accredited counties in which the modified accredited area plan is applied to the dairy herds, the modified accredited area system approved by the health officer shall be accepted in lieu of annual testing. On or after July 1, 1954, it is unlawful to sell, offer or expose for sale any fluid milk or cream designated or represented to be "Grade A" fluid milk or cream with know- ledge that such milk or cream has been produced from a herd of cows or goats, one or more of which are infected with brucellosis at the time such milk was produced, or with I knowledge that all animials in such herd have not been blood tested for brucellosis at least once during the pre- ceding calendar year or milk ring tested for brucellosis at least semi-annually during the preceding calendar year . The results of a test for brucellosis by the State or Federal i' Laboratory of a blood sample drawn by an official veterinarian, hshall be prima facie evidenc e of t:r e '_nf ect ion or non- infection of an animal or herds, or in lieu thereof two official negative milk ring tests for brucellosis not less than 6 months apart may be accepted as such evidence. All herds of cows or goats shall be blood tested for brucell osis annually or milk ring tested for brucellosis semi- !' annually. All herds showing any reaction to the milk ring test must be blood tested and all reactors to the f blood test must be removed from the herd and disposed of -rithin fifteen ( 15) days from the date they are tagged and branded . The remaining animals in the infected herd ! shall be re-tested at not less than 30-day nor more than 60-day intervals from date of the first test .
