ORDINANCE NO. ,5`7/=/ <br /> AN ORDINANCE relating to and regulating and licensing the ; <br /> business and practice of servicing first aid fire fighting equip- <br /> ment and providing penalties for violation thereof. <br /> N01U, THEN FORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: It shall be unlawful for any person to install, <br /> repair, recharge any first aid fire fighting equipment unless such <br /> person has first obtained from the Chief of the Fire Prevention <br /> Bureau a certificate of fitness. <br /> Section 2: Every person desiring to secure a certif ic4 to <br /> of fitness shall make application in writing to the Chief of the <br /> Fire Prevention Bureau, shall be over the age of 21 years, receive <br /> a passing- grade upon examination given bj; the Chief of the Fire <br /> ss Prevention Bureau, which examination shall cover the general field <br /> of first aid fire fighting equipment, shall submit two passport <br /> type pictures of himself. After complying with these qualifications <br /> a license shall be issued by the Chief of the Fire Prevention <br /> Bureau to the anelicant. <br /> Section 3 All certificates of fitness shall expire on <br /> Deceeber 31, of each year, and shall be renewed upon application <br /> to the Chief of the Fire Prevention Bureau. <br /> Section 4: Whenever the Chief of the Fire Prevention <br /> Bureau shall find that any person holding a certificate of fitness <br /> has failed to use reasonable care in the inspection of first aid <br /> fire fighting equipment, he shall give the licensee a notice in <br /> writing that (els license will be cancelled. The licensee shall <br /> have the might to have a herein`; before the Commissioner of Pub_Lic <br /> i; Safety before such license shall ae revoked. In event the Com- <br /> missioner of Public Safety shall find cause to revoke said license, <br /> he shall give the licensee notice in writing of his determination, <br /> and the licensee shall have ten (10) days in which to appeal to <br /> the Superior Court of Snohomish County; that should he fail to <br /> appeal, the decision of the Commissioner of Public Safety shall be <br /> final. <br /> Section 5: It shall be unlawful for any employee of the <br /> City of Everett to secure or make application for a certificate <br /> of fitness as herein provided. <br /> Section 6: Any person who shall violate the terms of <br /> this ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof, be fined a sum not <br /> less than :v100.00 or be imprisoned not more than 30 days in the <br /> City Jail, or ce punished b ;r both such fine and imprisonment. <br /> ) <br /> G f <br /> ..' . <br /> i1 a o r <br /> Attest : <br /> : P y <br /> City :Clad <br /> Passed: Sept. 22, 1.953 <br /> Puelished: Sept. 20, 19c. <br /> ji <br />
