RT HF 3-10-53 5 - ' . <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 3415_ <br /> AN ORDINANCE of the City of Everett , Washington, <br /> providing for the submission to the qualified <br /> electors of the city at a special election to <br /> be held therein on April 24, 1953 , of a pro- <br /> position of whether or not the general <br /> obligation bonds of the city in the principal <br /> sum of $125 ,000 should be issued to acquire <br /> certain real property from the Water Department , <br /> to construct a new Fire Department building and <br /> garage thereon, and to acquire and install a <br /> fire and police alarm signal system therein, <br /> and declaring an emergency. <br /> WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary and advisable that the city <br /> acquire property at the southwest corner of California and Lombard <br /> Avenue from the Water Department , construct a fire alarm office building <br /> and garage thereon, and acquire and install fire and police alarm signal <br /> system equipment therein; and <br /> WHEREAS, in order to provide funds for the above mentioned <br /> purposes, it is deemed necessary that the city issue and sell its <br /> general obligation bonds in the principal sum of 0.25 ,000 , the principal <br /> and interest of which shall be paid out of annual tax levies to be made <br /> without limitation as to rate or amount; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Constitution and Laws of the State of Washington <br /> provide that the question of whether or not such bonds may be issued <br /> for such purposes must be submitted to the qualified electors of the <br /> city for their ratification or rejection; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Commission of the <br /> City of. Everett, Washington, as follows : <br /> Section 1 . It is hereby found and declared that public <br /> necessity and welfare require the city to carry out the plans here- <br /> inafter provided . <br />
