Is 4 4 <br /> - ,w , . <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 3412 <br /> AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE ERECTION, CONSTRUCTION, <br /> ENLARGEMENT, ALTERATION, REPAIR, DEMOLISHING, CONVERSION, OCCUPANCY, <br /> EQUIPMENT, USE, HEIGHT, AREA AND MAINTENANCE OF BUILDINGS AND/OR <br /> STRUCTURES IN THE CITY OF EVERETT: PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION AS THE <br /> BUILDING CODE OR ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EVERETT OF THE UNIFORM <br /> BUILDING CODE, 1952 EDITION OF THE PACIFIC COAST BUILDING OFFICIALS <br /> CONFERENCE AND THE APPENDIX ATTACHED THERETO BEING DESIGNATED AS <br /> PAGES 254 to 272; ADDING THERETO SECTION 1711; PROVIDING PENALTIES <br /> FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF <br /> ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: The 1952 edition of the Uniform Building <br /> Code, together with appendix being designated as pages 254 to 272, <br /> as prepared by the Pacific Coast building Officials Conference, <br /> otherwise known as the 1952 edition of the Pacific Coast Conference <br /> Uniform Building Code, except Section 203, Chapter 2, is hereby <br /> adopted as the building code and ordinance of the City of Everett <br /> (there being three (3) copies of said building code on file with the <br /> City Clerk of the City of Everett) and such code by reference is <br /> hereby made a part of this ordinance as though fully set forth <br /> herein. <br /> Section 2: That there is hereby added to the Uniform <br /> Building Code, 1952 Edition, the following section entitled Section <br /> 1711: <br /> Section 1711: On all buildings of two or more <br /> stories, anchors of rust resistant material shall be <br /> attached to the side frames of windows or buildings <br /> for safety of window washers and as anchors for <br /> scaffolding. Such anchors shall be so constructed as <br /> to be reasonably safe for the purpose intended. Com- <br /> pliance with the general safety standards of the <br /> Department of Labor & Industries of the State of Wash-. <br /> ington shall be prima facie evidence of compliance <br /> with this requirement. <br /> Section 3: Any person violating or failing to comply <br /> with any of the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction <br /> thereof, be fined in a sum not exceeding One Hundred Dollars <br /> (4100.00) or imprisonment for a term not exceeding thirty (30) days, <br /> or by both such fine and imprisonment. <br /> Section 4: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances <br /> in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. <br /> Mayor <br /> Attest: F <br /> 1/ 7,,/- <br /> ., <br /> � City Clerk <br /> Passed: February 24, 1953 <br /> Published: February 25, 1953 <br />
