ORDINANCE NO. 3382 <br /> An ordinance amending Section 174 of Ordinance No. 2513 <br /> i entitled: <br /> AN ORDINANCE relating to, and providing for, the <br /> licensing and regulating of certain occupations, businesses, <br /> vocations, trades, callings, amusements, places of amuse- <br /> I ments, exhibitions, entertainments, animals, motor <br /> vehicles, places and establishments; defining offenses, <br /> providing penalties; providing for the revocation and <br /> suspension of licenses, repealing Ordinances No. 2196, 853, <br /> 1301, 1503, 1583, 1585, 1595, 1598, 1771, 1851, 1932, 1941, <br /> 1948, 1964, 2087, 2182, 2249, 2333, 2370 and 2038, and all <br /> other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict there- <br /> with. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE, CITY OF EVERET'P DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That Section 174 of Ordinance No. 2513 of the <br /> 1 City of Everett be, and it is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> Section 174: It shall be unlawful to charge, collect <br /> or receive, direct, or indirect, as a fee or compen- <br /> sation for furnishing employment or information <br /> leading thereto any sum in excess of the following <br /> amounts: <br /> (a) hen the employment is for one month or less <br /> duration, ten per cent (100) of the amount earned. <br /> I <br /> (b) :'yhen the employment is for more than one month, <br /> but not more than three months, ten percent (10`0) of <br /> one month' s salary or wages. <br /> (a) When the employment is to be permanent or of <br /> more than. three (3) months 'duration, fifteen per cent <br /> (15%) of one month' s salary or wages. <br /> (d) Whenever any employment is secured under a <br /> written contract for a term of one (1) year or more, <br /> five per cent (5 .) of the first year ' s salary or wages. <br /> if It shall be unlawful for any employment agent to <br /> fail, neglect or refuse to have at least one copy of <br /> this section posted in a conspicuous place in that <br /> portion of the licensed premises where persons seeking <br /> employment may come or congregate. <br /> M a y o . <br /> Attest: <br /> . /Pi <br /> City Clerk <br /> Passed: June 24, 1952 <br /> Published: June 25, 1952 <br />
