ORDINANCE NO. 3336. <br /> AN ORDINANCE amending Sections 13-A, 13-B and 13-C of <br /> Ordinance No. 1655 as amended by Ordinance No. 3151, entitled as <br /> follows: <br /> "An Ordinance regulating the installation, erection, <br /> alteration, repair, use and operation of electric wiring, <br /> connections, fixtures and other electric appliances in <br /> building and other structures in the City of Everett, <br /> providing a penalty for the violation thereof, repealing <br /> all Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict here- <br /> with and declaring an emergency. " <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That Section 13-A of Ordinance No. 1655 of <br /> the City of Everett be, and the same is hereby amended to read as <br /> follows: <br /> Section 13-A: The "National Electrical Code" as edited <br /> by the National Board of Fire Underwriters and recommended <br /> by the National Fire Protection Association for 1951, is <br /> hereby adopted as a part of the electrical code of the <br /> City of Everett, there being three (3) copies of said <br /> "1951 National Electrical Code" on file with the City <br /> Clerk of the City of Everett, and such code by this Ordin- <br /> ance is hereby made a part of this Ordinance as though <br /> fully set forth herein. <br /> Section 2: That Section 13-B of Ordinance No. 1655 of <br /> the City of Everett be, and the same is hereby amended to read as <br /> follows: <br /> Section 13-B: That the rules, regulations and directions <br /> of the 1951 edition of the "National Electrical Code" shall <br /> in all respects be complied with, and in addition thereto <br /> the following additional requirements shall be complied <br /> with as to new constructions or alterations: <br /> (1) Within the fire limits of the City of Everett, or in <br /> public places, factories, warehouses, hotels, or apartment <br /> houses containing more than two (2) apartments, within or <br /> without the fire limits of the City of Everett, all wiring <br /> where the voltage is over twenty-four (24) volts shall be <br /> installed in Rigid Conduit or Electric Metallic Tubing. <br /> Where it is impossible to install Rigid Conduit or Electric <br /> Metallic Tubing, the City Electrical Inspector may permit the <br /> use of Flexible Conduit. <br /> (2) All conduits, conduit boxes and conduit outlet boxes, <br /> except outlets used with knob and tube wiring, shall be <br /> galvanized or sheradized. <br /> (3) Non-metallic sheathed cable, wooden raceways and <br /> cleat wiring shall not be used in the City of Everett. <br /> (4) service entrance conductors shall be in Rigid Conduit <br /> or Electrical Metallic Tubing. <br /> (5) Size of neutral conductor No. 4 shall be Type R. Size <br /> of undergrounded service conductor Two No. 4 shall be Type <br /> R. Size of service conduit shall be 1* inch. <br /> (6) A service switch shall have a rating not less than that <br /> of the outlet base in series with it, except that all <br /> switches connected to one lighting service entrance shall <br /> not be smaller than 60 Ampere. <br />
