ORDINANCE T O . ?._':` An Ordinance providing for the allocation of funds to cover unanticipated expenditures for the Fire Department; creating the position of two additional pipemen in the Fire Department at a salary of Two Hundred Seventy ( 270.00) Dollars a month for the balance of the year from May 15, 1950, to December 31, 1950, making a total allocation of Three Thousand. Fifty ( 3050.00) Dollars, and declaring an emergency to exist. WHEREAS, it was not anticipated at the time of the mak- ing of the budget for the year 19)49 that additional help would be needed in the Fire Department to assist in the construction, operation, and maintenance of the fire and police signal system, and WH REAS, it is necessary for the public safety to em- ploy two additional pipemen in the Fire Department to assist in the maintenance, construction, and operation of the fire and polic signal system, NOW, THEREFORE, THI. CITY OF EVERhTT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: That an emergency exists, and the sum of Three Thousand Fifty (43050.00) Dollars is hereby allocated to the Fire Department of the City of -,verett for the employment of two additional pipemen from May 15, 1950 to December 31, 1950, at a salary of Two Hundred Seventy ( 270.00) Dollars per month. Section 2 : That there is hereby created two additional positions of pipemen in the Fire Department. Section 3 : That there is hereby appropriated out of the general current expense fund of the City of Everett nor other- wise budgeted for the year 1950 the sum of Three Thousand Fifty ( 3050.00) Dollars, which sum shall be paid by the issuance of emergency warrants drawn on such funds by the proper officer of the City of Everett as provided by law, and charged against the Fire Department of the City of Everett.
