How many down spouts are currently connected to the sewer: 0
Does side sewer have slope: No, not inside the house. It has slope outside home.
Depth of side sewer 10ft from house: 5'
Sewer Report:
Material: Concrete
Sewer Length: 87'
Condition: poor
Explain: No grade under basement floor
Recommend: Either break concrete and run new line to outside or run new line directly
outside and bring new side sewer to the cleanout location.
Any additional comments:
• Shared line with neighbor most of it is new now after new city sewer installed in
street.
Problems Identified
1) This home does not currently have a backwater valve to prevent backups during high
flow surcharge events.
Solution:
Install backwater valve on side sewer.
2) No Drain at back stairs to basement
Solution A: Install new drain to current plumbing
Solution B: Install new drain using sump pump to remove water to yard or sewer.
3) Inside the house side sewer is cast iron with a major flat spot holding debris. This
could cause a back up at any time.
Solution: Replace inside section by cutting concrete and installing new line in place of
the old line and path or take out new line outside and bring sewer to new spot outside.
