Their report, which is attached, does recommend the installation of a backwater
valve to reduce the risk of basement flooding from sewer backups. This was done as part
of the City's main sewer line replacement last summer.
Please review the report to see where it identifies deficiencies in your sewer and drainage
system that could lead to future problems. These private deficiencies are your responsibility
and we recommend that you take steps to correct these issues. We also recommend that
you regularly inspect your sewer and drainage systems to ensure they are working
properly.
Thank you for your interest in our backwater valve program. If you have any questions,
please contact Marla Carter (425-257-8875, mcarterc ci.everett,wa.us) or Grant Moen
(425-257-8947, gmoencci.everett.wa.us).
Sincerely,
Mark S
Maintenance Superintendent
Everett Public Works
CITY OF EVERETT • 3200 Cedar Street • Everett, WA 98201 • (425) 257-8800 • Fax (425) 257-8882
