Downstream of the back graded area near the stairs the line has <br /> adequate slope. <br /> Depth of side sewer 10ft from house: 4'2" <br /> Sewer Report: <br /> Material: Plastic and concrete <br /> Sewer Length: 49' <br /> Condition: Good and Bad <br /> Explain: The side sewer line is holding solids (debris) under front stair walkway where it <br /> is sloped backwards toward house. <br /> Recommend: Repair flat area to provide a 2% grade. <br /> Any additional comments: <br /> • Other than the problem area near the stairs the rest of the side sewer line is in <br /> good condition. <br /> Problems Identified <br /> 1) No backwater valve to protect from surcharge. <br /> Solution: Install backwater valve <br /> 2) Belly near cleanout and stairs in front yard. <br /> Solution: Trench to replace approximately 15'-20' section of side sewer under the stairs <br /> where there isn't proper slope. <br /> 3) Clogged downspout lines. <br /> Solution: Snake downspout lines. Clogs cause storm water to flow into basements and <br /> can cause foundation problems. <br />
