How many down spouts are currently connected to the sewer: 4 but they are clogged
Does side sewer have slope: Near the stairs there is a low area in the line without
proper slope. Downstream of the back graded area near the stairs the line has
adequate slope.
Depth of side sewer 10ft from house: 4'2"
Sewer Report:
Material: Plastic and concrete
Sewer Length: 49'
Condition: Good and Bad
Explain: The side sewer line is holding solids (debris) under front stair walkway where it
is sloped backwards toward house.
Recommend: Repair flat area to provide a 2% grade.
Any additional comments:
• Other than the problem area near the stairs the rest of the side sewer line is in
good condition.
Problems Identified
1) No backwater valve to protect from surcharge.
Solution: Install backwater valve
2) Belly near cleanout and stairs in front yard.
Solution: Trench to replace approximately 15'-20' section of side sewer under the stairs
where there isn't proper slope.
3) Clogged downspout lines.
Solution: Snake downspout lines. Clogs cause storm water to flow into basements and
can cause foundation problems.
