The Main Library currently has a Masonry Cleaning and Sealing project included in the CIP 1 budget, in the amount of $304,000. The Washington State Department of Commerce has a grant opportunity available to rehabilitate libraries operated by governmental agencies. The grant, if awarded, will reimburse the City 50% of eligible capital costs up to $152,000. Project summary statement: The application for the Library Capital Improvement Program Application must be submitted by May 1, 2022. Prior to submission of the grant application, the City requires approval from Administration. Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): Approve the submittal of the Library Capital Improvement Program Grant and authorize Mayor to sign the contract and all related documents once the grant is awarded.
