Enclosed is a summary of their findings. Please review the report and
contact us with any questions.
The report identifies deficiencies in your plumbing, sewer and drainage system. This
includes:
• The existing backwater valve is located 1-2 feet from a floor drain in the
basement. This leaves no storage space during a surcharge event.
• A lot of ground water is entering the basement through cracks in the walls. This is
noticeable even during dry periods of 6-8 weeks.
We recommend that during a storm event you monitor your floor drain for signs of
backups and that you reduce the use of water within the house during these short periods
of surcharge events. We also recommend you inspect your backwater valve 4 times a
year to ensure that it is clean, undamaged and that it is working correctly, as indicated in
the packet you received previously. If you require an additional maintenance packet or a
demonstration please call and we will provide assistance.
CITY OF EVERETT • 3200 Cedar Street • Everett, WA 98201 • (425) 257-8800 • Fax (425) 257-8882
