An Ordinance creating the position of one additional Captain in the Fire Department, defining his duties, fixing his salary, declaring an emergency to exist, appropriating One Hundred ( 100. 00) Dollars for salaries ana wages for the rire Department, ana declaring an emergency to exist. WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary that an additional posi- tion of Captain be created in the Fire Department, and WHEREAS, there will be a shortage of approxilLately One Hundred (w100. 00) Dollars in the salaries and wages division in the Fire Department budget which could not have been reasonably foreseen at the time of the making of the budget, NOW , `I`HREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section l: That an additional position of Captain is hereby created for the year 1950, in addition to that set forth in Ordinance No. 3262. Section 2: That the position of captain as hereby creat- ed shall pay a salary of $502.00 per month. Section 3: That an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and there is hereby allocated to the Fire Department the sum of One Hundred ( 100.00) Dollars for salaries and wages in ad- dition to that set forth in the budget for the year 1950. Section 4: That there is hereby appropriated out of the general current expense fund not otherwise budgeted for the year 1950 the sum of une Hundred (4100.00) Dollars which shall be paid by the issuance of an emergency warrant drawn on such funds bythe proper officers of the city of Lverett as provided by law to oe charged against the Fire Department of the City of Dverett. erection 5: That an emergency is hereby declared to exist, ana this Ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and publication.
