S
Meg Haley
From: Meg Haley
Sent: Monday,January 23, 2017 4:09 PM
To: 'Impression Design'; 'briant@aegisengineering.com'
Cc: Jim Venturo;Tony Lee
Subject: RE: Letter of Recommendations for Fire Resistive Assemblies (Hodges)
Hi Doug and Brian,
The following minor comments may be more relevant to your architectural revisions. The fire-resistive
construction revisions letter is a very well detailed letter and thank you both for that. The following comments
also reflect the field visit that occurred this summer.
City of Everett Comments
• Please add current permit numbers for the proposed fire resistance design to the letter header: B1606-
032 and B1606-075.
• The current configuration of the fire escape should be verified by a structural engineer to meet 100 psf,
or propose revisions required to retrofit the structure.
• The termination of the fire escape should be shown to meet the requirements IFC section 1104.16.6
and egress to the public way.
• The elevator machine room should be shown to be 1 hour fire resistive construction on the floor and
supporting construction down through the building, in addition to the walls.
• The stairs to the elevator machine room and to the basement should be shown to have solid risers.
• The basement stair should show that the crawl space is sealed from the stair and basement by one
hour fire resistive construction.
• The crawl space should be shown with insulation to meet current WSEC energy code requirements.
• The tested fire resistive assemblies should be referenced AND shown on the revised drawings.
Thanks again!
Meg
Meg H-ciLej, RA
Plan Review Architect
Permit Services,City of Everett
3200 Cedar St.
Everett,WA 98201
Direct: 425-257-8813
Main: 425-257-8810(Option 8)Monday-rriday 7:30arn-12pm&1pm-4pm,except holidays
everettwa.gov/permits
everettwa.gov/codes
everettwa.gov/maptools
From: Impression Design [mailto:impressiondesignfthotmail.com]
Sent: Friday, January 13, 2017 4:42 PM
To: Meg Haley
Cc: Jim Venturo
Subject: Fw: Letter of Recommendations (Hodges)
Hi Meg!
Please find the attached letter from the fire protection engineer consultant regarding the Hodges
Building. Can you and Jim please review said letter? If you approve the recommendations, I will implement
them into the Drawings. We would like to move on this ASAP.
lJ
