The following
design conditions for the analysis are based on the site conditions or according to the minimum code
requirements:
Tank capacity 3143 Cu.Ft
Existing tank Construction: 3/16"welded steel walls
Basic wind Speed: 110 MPH
Wind Exposure/Importance: B/Iw=1.0
Seismic Site Class: D
Soil Baring capacity: 2,000 PSF
Plate steel of existing tank: A-36
The existing tank will be used for water storage only, the tank construction was analyzed for the highest
loaded exiting tank components to demonstrate it is strong enough to meet current requirements. It was
found to be stronger than the minimum requirements for water tanks and pressure vessels per the current
ASCE requirements. New welded brakets are proposed for anchorage to the slab footing, this welding is
required to meet AISC standards for full penetration fillet or backed up welds((E70XX electrodes).
For tank anchorage, seismic controls lateral design and the slab design(including up lift and overturning
moments transferred to the slab). The Simpson"Wedge All"rated anchor bolts are used, so no anchor
embedment calculation was done.
Speical inspection required: 1.Form work for dimensions,2.Rebar size and placement, 3.Anchor
installation.
If you have any questions_or are in need of further assistance please feel free to call.
r sc
J
9 add
,,, "0.97 A
,fy
, „ OCT
042019
4, -$ - . -i. ,- VERETT
4 0- CITY OF E
Permit Services
Peter Chopelas PE
