The Owner grants permission lu tire City and its contractor to inspect the plumbing and drainage of the Owner's property for the purpose of gathering information regarding whether a backwater valve should be installed. The City and Owner will cooperate to determine a mutually agreeable time for the inspection. The inspection is at the City's sole cost. 2. Backwater Valve A. City Review of lusnection and Permission to Install Backwater Valve. The City will review the results of the inspection and will determine whether a backwater valve should be installed. By signing this authorization, the Owner grants the CiR and its contrarios ncnnission to install ,I!c backwater valve if the City determines that a backwater valve should be installed. ']'his instailatiun is at the City's sole cost. B. Other Devices. There may be other devices that provide as good as (or greater) protect`on than a backwater v:.lvc. By signing this authorization, the Owner grants the City and its contractor permission to install the other device if the City determines that it should be installed. This insudlatiun is at the City's sole cost. However, if the Owner desires installation of Pic other device, but the Citv has determined to only install a backwater valve, then the Owner may install the other device, and the City will reimburse the Owner up to tile installation cost of the 'backwater valve. C. Future Maintenance. Upon instaliation, the backwater valve or other device is the Owner's property. The Owner is exclusively responsible to maintain it. 3. Otter Recommended Improv+:ments. After the completion of the inspection, the City may provide the Owner with a list of other recommended improvements to the property's plumbing and drninage systen.3.
