PUBLIC WORKS
May 2, 2014
Carole Corcoran
2326 Rockefeller Ave
Everett, WA 98201
Re: Backwater Valve Installation at 2326 Rockefeller Ave
Dear Ms. Corcoran
As you are aware, the City's contractor, Steve's Plumbing, inspected your plumbing and drainage
facilities to determine if a backwater valve is appropriate for your property. Their findings indicate
that installing a backwater valve on your property would be beneficial. Please review the
enclosed report.
Previously, you signed the Backwater Valve Authorization Fcrm authorizing the City to install a
backwater valve at your property. Based on the inspection report, we are proceeding with the
installation. The City's contractor, Combined Construction will be contacting you in
May to schedule the work. This will require entry into the building at the above address.
The City will provide you on -site training on the operation and maintenance of the backwater
valve. Maintenance of the valve and the plumbing, sewer, and drainage on your property are
your responsibility.
The City is not responsible for future sewer or storm damages that may result from improper
maintenance of, or deficiencies within, your private plumbing and drainage system.
If you have any questions about this process, please contact Grant Moen at 425-257-8947 or
"gmoen@everettNva.gov, or Brian Doolan at 425-257-8828 or bdoolanneverettwa.gov. Thank you
for your interest in our backwater valve program.
Sincerely,
Mark Sa r
Maintenance Superintendent
Everett Public Works
CITY OF EVERETT • 3200 Cedar Street • Everett, WA 98201 - (425) 257-8800 • Fax (425) 257-8882
