Solution:
Add splash blocks to the 3 downspouts to push rain water away from foundation.
Or
Extend away from house with plastic pipe and direct away from house.
6) (OPTIONAL IMPROVEMENT) No cleanout currently on side sewer.
Solution: Install Cleanout at time that backwater valve is installed
As-Built of Sewer and Plumbing
See attached drawing.
Comments
• All down spouts that are connected to the side sewer could be disconnected and
routed to splash blocks so that less flow is in the side sewer causing potential
surcharge events. Where downspouts are routed to splash blocks the ground
surface should be sloped away from the house.
• Installing a grinder pump would provide increased protection from sewer backups
beyond the protection a backwater valve can provide.
1/18/2011
