Does side sewer have slope: Yes, 2%
Depth of side sewer 10ft from house: 6 feet
Any additional comments:
• It was not possible to open clean out. Inspection used toilet in basement for
access to the side sewer. The pipe was previously remodeled with a series of
bends making it impossible to fully reach city sewer system. The side sewer
camera inspection made it to the sidewalk.
Problems Identified
1) This home does not currently have a backwater valve to prevent backups during high
flow surcharge events.
Solution:
Install backwater valve upstream of all downspout and exterior drain connections. See
attached site drainage and plumbing sketch for proposed location.
2) Down spouts on north side of house are not discharging water far enough from the
house foundation.
‘t,,,,
f'
•
r• .N.1 a ,fit 1 --/ gyp_ . 4 ii.A`-4 r
. • - crIT-0
Solution A: Extend downspout piping away from house and provide a splash block a
minimum of 3 feet from the house.
S:\#Common\clerical\SIDE SEWER&PLUMBING INVESTIGATION\Final Reports\2nd Batch\732 wetmore final.docx 5/3/2011
