Is there currently a clean out on the side sewer: Yes, located outside near back of <br /> home. <br /> How many at risk plumbing fixtures below the road surface are there: 5; toilet, sink, <br /> shower, floor drain, stair floor drain. <br /> How many down spouts are currently connected to the sewer: 1 Exact route unknown. <br /> Possibly goes into stairs (cement) <br /> Does side sewer have slope: No. Very flat and reverse grade in some areas. <br /> Depth of side sewer at current Backwater Valve location: 5'1" <br /> Sewer Report: <br /> Material: Cement, but repair area in backyard looks like foam core ABS inside pipe, <br /> which is not sewer pipe. If it is foam core it should not be buried in the ground. <br /> Sewer Length: 76 ft. <br /> Condition: Poor. <br /> Explain: Wrong material used for repair. Would need to dig up the pipe to verify label. <br /> Sewer is flat, holding water 14' to 22' out, major belly at 33' to 49'. Backwater valve is in <br /> alley and is not serviceable as access is not available to surface, no way to fix or clean. <br /> House may not be protected if valve closes. Back stairs drain and one downspout could <br /> flood basement in a surcharge event since it connects to the side sewer upstream of <br /> backwater valve. <br /> Recommend: Replacement of side sewer by trenching. <br /> Any additional comments: <br /> • See Sewer Report Video. <br /> Problems Identified <br /> 1) Backwater valve is buried and cannot be maintained. Also, backwater valve may be <br /> in City Right-of-Way. <br /> Solution: Replace existing backwater valve with a new backwater valve that has an <br /> access port to the surface. Confirm that new backwater valve location is not within City <br /> Right-of-Way. <br />
