O
PUBLIC WORKS
AIL
MSA
June 3, 2011
David E. Miller
601 Laurel Drive
Everett, Washington 98206
Re: Plumbing Investigation at 601 Laurel Drive for Backwater Valve Program
Dear Mr. Miller:
The City of Everett's contractor, Seattle Drain Services, inspected your property on
January 26th, 2011 to determine if a backwater valve is appropriate for the above
residence. Enclosed is a summary of their findings.
Please review the report and contact us with any questions.
The inspection found that a backwater valve is not needed at this location. Therefore no
further work was identified that would be eligible under our backwater valve program.
However, the report does identify some deficiencies in your plumbing, sewer and
drainage system. These include:
• The side sewer is in poor condition (problem identified #1).
• Down spouts do not have splash blocks (problem identified #2).
Storm damages related to these and other private system deficiencies are the
responsibility of the property owner. We therefore recommend that you regularly inspect
your plumbing, sewer and drainage system to ensure it is working correctly and
efficiently.
Please read over the report and if you have any questions, please contact Marla Carter
(425-257-8875, mcarterrci.everett.wa.us) or Grant Moen (425-257-8947,
gmoenna ci.everett.wa.us).
Thank you for your interest in our backwater valve program.
Sincerely,
Mark Sadler
Maintenance Superintendent
Everett Public Works
Enclosures: Plumbing, Sewer, and Drainage Investigation Report
CITY OF EVERETT • 3200 Cedar Street • Everett, WA 98201 • (425) 257-8800 • Fax (425) 257-8882
