How many at risk plumbing fixtures below the road surface are there: We did not get to
go inside as the home owner had an emergency and had to leave suddenly.
How many down spouts are currently connected to the sewer: 5
Does side sewer have slope: yes 1% Kind of flat but works no heavy debris buildup.
Depth of side sewer 10ft from house: 4'5"
Sewer Report:
Material: Concrete (shared line)
Sewer Length: 62'
Condition: Fair
Explain: Old concrete side sewer pipe has separations at the joints.
Recommend: Replacement either with pipe lining if done soon or Pipe Bursting or
trenching. Waiting will remove lining as a repair option as it will continue to sink into the
ground.
Any additional comments:
• See below
Problems Identified
1) Side sewer pipe has separation at the joints
Solution: Replace via trenching, pipe bursting, or repair with pipe lining.
As-Built of Sewer and Plumbing
See attached drawing.
Comments
• All down spouts that are connected to the side sewer could be disconnected and
routed to splash blocks so that less flow is in the side sewer causing potential
surcharge events. Where downspouts are routed to splash blocks the ground
surface should be sloped away from the house.
• Installing a grinder pump would provide increased protection from sewer backups
beyond the protection a backwater valve can provide.
